The Munich Bluegrass Friends e. V. have established a Bluegrass Musicians and Friends Club in the Munich Area. As a first action they have organized the 1. Bluegrass Festival in Gliching, Bavaria with local bands (including semi-professionals and newcomers) in July 2008. Whenever readers of this website are aware that this certainly was not the fist Bavarian Bluegrass festival (see www.waldkraiburg.bluegrass.de and www.bluegrass.de/hillbillyheaven) it is great to see a new effort towards strengthening the local Bluegrass community. Do you like banjo picker jokes?

What's the most beautiful sound anyone ever got out of a banjo?

How do you know if you're looking at a banjo player's family tree?
It has only one branch.

Walking in New Orleans the other day my daughter and I passed a cemetery - she says "Daddy, I didn't know they put two people in the same grave". I said honey they never do that. She said well look for yourself, on the tombstone it says - here lies a banjo player and a talented musician.

Why did the banjo player leave his capo on the dashboard?
So he could park in the handicap zone.

and a final one:

How do you get the banjo player out of the tree?
Cut the rope.
